  •  We're in the process of reviewing our Kickstarter survey, powered by BackerKit, with our BackerKit specialist. They should go out on Friday, barring any major hiccups... so keep an eye out for them!
  • Digital copies of the Coloring Book will go out early next week!
Awesome to see coloring pages coming in over on Facebook!

  • We're still in the process of trying to figure out international shipping on those Giant Plush Toys... we're actually working on trying to get the very first one produced, and will know more once the big guy is created.  We appreciate your patience.

Those are the major updates so far... we'll be back on Friday with that survey.

P.S. Make Sure to Check out Joe's Book MUMMY'S ALWAYS RIGHT!

Of course, we also have to encourage you guys to check out Joe Mulvey's awesome book Mummy's Always Right, which is kicking monster butt so far on Kickstarter, and closing in on 100% funding.

If you downloaded the Backers-Only Sampler in our last update, you saw how awesome Joe's book is in black and white... we'll it's even better in full-color!

Click here for the Mummy's Always Right Kickstarter.

We know Joe has a lot of cool campaign bonuses underwraps, and the guy is sketching his butt off all campaign long.

If your little monsters like C is for Cthulhu, they're going to LOVE Mummy's Always Right.

A BIG Thank You... and What Comes Next
about 8 years ago – Sat, Apr 30, 2016 at 12:55:13 PM

Good morning!

If you missed the close of our campaign, know that it was an incredibly strong finish. With less than 5 minutes on the clock, we narrowly passed the $42,484 stretch goal. (We beat it by $5!)

As a result, at the end of this update, we're going to reveal the title of the next board book from Greg and Jason.

But first, a few things we'll cover in this post:

  • Campaign Summary
  • Credit Card Transactions
  • Survey and Add-ons
  • Fulfillment Timeline
  • Post-Campaign Communication
  • The Next Book

Campaign Summary

This was definitely a special campaign. We certainly did not expect it to become our most funded campaign ever. Afterall, the campaign was for a rather inexpensive base item (the coloring book), it was to run for 5 days shorter than our other campaigns, and we reduced international shipping charges for our international backers.

Pretty amazing:

  • 971 incredible backers!
  • More than 472% funded!
  • Thousands of free coloring pages downloaded!
  • 133 books being donated to charity.
  • 26 crayon box winners! Congrats to Laura L. G. from Branford, CT who was our final giveaway winner. And thanks for everyone else who participated!

Credit Card Transactions

Now that the campaign is over, Kickstarter's payment processor Stripe will attempt to charge your card on file to process your pledge.

In fact, as of right now, 96% of your pledges have already been processed. (Yay!)

However, 43 backers currently have not been processed. Usually that means a credit card on file with a passed expiration date. Kickstarter and Stripe will automatically follow up with you to try to resolve that issue.

You can aways log in to your account to make sure your pledge went through.

To check your pledge status:

1. Log into your Kickstarter account.

2. From the menu, click Backed Projects.

3. Click on the C is for Cthulhu Coloring Book Project from your list of backed projects.

4. Scroll down to the "Your Pledge" information section, where it should show your credit card on file, expiration date, and whether or not your pledge was collected.

5. If it says "Collected" you're all set.  Otherwise, you many need to address the card on file, and Kickstarter should help you do that.

Survey and Add-Ons

Question: I put in extra money for an add-on (extra book, plush, bundle, etc.) How do I  mark that down so you know what to send me?

Answer: The Survey, powered by BackerKit.

In a few weeks, we'll be sending you a campaign survey, powered by BackerKit, that will let you confirm your pledge, and select any add-ons you'd like, letting you see clearly exactly what you'll be getting, even if you've decided to customize your pledge.

Question: Shoot! I wanted to add-on something to my pledge, but didn't do it, and now I can't. What do I do?

Answer: Don't worry! The BackerKit survey will also let you add-on and pay for items you weren't able to pledge for during the campaign. All that information will be collected together.

Question: What if I'm moving and need to change my address?

Answer: That's another great thing about the BackerKit survey... address changes are easy, and you can make them anytime.

(Note: If you're curious about crowdfunding, you might want to listen to Tyler's recent discussion with the Head of Sales at BackerKit on the ComixLaunch podcast. It's a pretty great tool, and far better than the survey that Kickstarter offers.)

Fulfillment Timeline

Fulfillment starts now! Here's our fulfillment timeline. Note, the plush toys are being manufactured in parallel with the production of the books, so we expect they will run on a similar schedule.

However, we are asking Giant plush recipients to leave an extra 2 months of contingency time, as there may be some logistics in delivering those monstrosities that we'll have to hammer at.

Post-Campaign Communication

Please feel free to contact us through Kickstarter at any time. Direct messages work best, but comments are okay as well.

You can also reach us at lovecraftabcs @ comixtribe.com if you'd prefer to send an email, and we're also very active on our Facebook page at facebook.com/cisforcthulhu

Expect an update every two weeks or so keeping you up to date on what's going on with fulfillment. Where we can, we'll share behind the scenes pics of the books and toys in production... and when we have other cool developments to share, we will.

We recognize the tremendous amount of trust and support you've given us. We will honor that with strong communication after the campaign is over.

The Next Book!!!

Okay, we covered the logistics...

Now for the fun.

Drumroll Please...

We would like to announce the title of the next collaboration between Greg and Jason...

And there it is!

Sweet Dreams Cthulhu: A Lovecraftian Bedtime Story will be the next title in the series, and will feature many of the characters from the board book, only this time in a narrative about facing your fears at bedtime.

This title should be complete by the end of the year.

about 8 years ago – Fri, Apr 29, 2016 at 10:33:42 PM

Here we are, the final day of the C is for Cthulhu Coloring Book campaign!

Thanks so much for being a part of the madness!

In this update:

  • New Final Day Stretch Goals Announced!
  • Campaign Awesomeness Recap!
  • And of course, our final #Cthulhugram Contest Winner!

Let's get to it!

New Stretch Goals for the Final Day!

We've been smashing stretch goals left and right, so we thought it only right to reveal the rest of the stretch goals we have for this campaign.

At $40,000, we're going to add some "Mummy's Always Right" Bonus Coloring Page digital downloads to EVERY backer's pledge. MAR is a new title by our pal Joe Mulvey, and boys and ghouls of all ages are going to love it.

At $42,484, we're going to reveal the title of the very next book by Jason & Greg. Why that random total? Well, if we hit that mark, this will be the most funded C is for Cthulhu Campaign ever!

And then at $50,000, we're going to extend the FREE 96 Count Crayon Box Giveaway we've been doing all month long for another month! Even after the campaign is over... we're going to keep mailing out 30 more boxes of crayons, one each day, to one of our awesome backers!

Let's see how big this thing can go!

But Let's Also Celebrate All We've Accomplished Already This Campaign

  • 895 incredible backers!
  • More than 416% funded!
  • Thousands of free coloring pages downloaded!
  • 111 books being donated to charity.
  • 25 crayon box winners with more still to come. Congrats to James T. from Minneapolis, MN, Shawna A. from Memphis, TN, and Catalina S. who are our latest winners.
  • And a second awesome #Cthulhugram Caption Contest Winner.

Now about that winner...

We thought long and hard about this one, and to be perfectly honest, this was the most difficult contest yet.

So many great entries that had us cracking up, but if we had to pick just one...

It seems Tara L. from Ipswich, UK had The Right Stuff.

She must have known that Uncle Jason, born and raised in Massachusetts, was a die-hard NKOTB fan back in the day.

Thanks everyone for playing, and congrats to Tara on her three new Cthulhus!

We're just $2,514 away from unlocking the $40K stretch goal.  We'll post another update if we do... otherwise, thanks so much for making this another memorable C is for Cthulhu Campaign!

$40K Stretch Goal Unlocked!
about 8 years ago – Fri, Apr 29, 2016 at 10:12:07 PM

Hey, great news!

We just crushed that $40K Stretch Goal... as a result, we're going to add some bonus MUMMY'S ALWAYS RIGHT coloring pages as a digital download extra.

MUMMY'S ALWAYS RIGHT is an upcoming board book by our pal Joe Mulvey, which is a story that will teach all little monsters to listen to their Mummies.

Joe's been doing some super cool MAR movie posters, which I know will be fun to color.

Next Up: The Next C is for Cthulhu Book Revealed!

This also means we're just $2,129 away from the $42,484 stretch goal, which would make this the biggest C is for Cthulhu campaign of all time!

Gonna be fun!
